Wanna be a Classic Poet?
by Nancy Ness

Wanna be a classic poet?
Just sit down with pen and tablet.
Let your metric feet go walkin’
And your wingers do the flockin’
Through your trusty Dictionaurus.
Tell a story that won’t bore us;
Toss some end-rhyme in absurdly
Using syntax that is wordly.
Ev’ry single one can do it
It’s no big deal - Get write to it.
Then a little luck quill do ya
And don’t let those critics fool ya..
Like great poets who precede us
We’ll be gone before we’re famous.

A simile is as easy as pie, but a metaphor is a piece of cake!
