Cobblestones
by Nancy Ness

cobblestones

  By happenstance musings entwine
In juvenescent day.
A meld of minds yielding combine
Of staid and impish way.

 Ensuing years directions verge,
Yet visions' focus sound.
Thence come about in tidings merge
Seas drink of life's abound.

 Next generation's kin to pledge
Sodality in pact.
Parturient of others' fledge
In nonage seasons past.

From Heights whence unsung souls were bore
In friendship's staunch avow,
Like Cobblestones from paths of yore,
Enduring bonds endow.

A simile is as easy as pie, but a metaphor is a piece of cake!
