Delphi
by Nancy Ness

delphi

Remindrances of cherry trees
Of pond’rances and fantasies
Where nature’s way grows cyclical
Wild flowers gay and magical

Grand monarchs glide and flutter by
As rainbows sidle from the sky
Upon a wending dusty road
To golden endings warm abode

A time of peace and harmony
In Delphi’s place pure sanctity
Where restful days erstwhile are spent
And inner smiles exude content

From rise of rendered solitude
Dawns Sunshine’s tender gratitude
For tempests never dare contend
The love of ever-dearest friends

A simile is as easy as pie, but a metaphor is a piece of cake!
