Father
and Friend
by Velma M. Carlson
Dearest
father and friend,
You have bid us adieu.
The angels of death came and
Called
The brought you a message.
‘Twas from Heaven above,
one that must come to us all
You
carried your cross,
Dearest father and friend.
In this world you had darkness
For years.
In life you spread sunshine to
Others.
In death I know you will see.
We
shall miss you so
Dearest father and friend.
But we know you are resting
“In Peace”.
You have not died; you have just
Gone away.
Dearest father and friend
“Sleep.”
A simile is as easy as pie, but a
metaphor is a piece of cake!
