In
Memoriam
by Velma M. Carlson
In memory of her dear
father, George F. McGraw
who died on August 26, 1928
On
August 26th ten years ago
He died,
And with him went a part of the
Blue
Out of the august sky.
I dream of him – Oh! So often;
When I awake. I
feel so sad.
I miss him so, and cherish
Thoughts
Of my dear beloved dad
I loved you so, dear Dad.
I couldn’t love you more,
And I know you’ll wait for me
On that great eternal shore.
Your life’s work here is ended.
So, dear Dad, “Rest in Peace”
Until the roll is called up yonder
And this life on earth shall
Cease.
A simile is as easy as pie, but a
metaphor is a piece of cake!
