Rest
by Nancy Ness

Your shepherd’s flock
Nestles safely about
Life’s moor mundane tasks

Hover in abeyance
Secure in your
Sagacious Passion
For each ewe
Will envelop a protective fold
For the young
Lamb of innocence
That they too may
One day stand
Proudly as today’s
Mighty ram
To supplant each
Timely burden shorn

Yet each
From meager to the bold
Shall face that
Towering fence
As responsibilities
Ewe count with
Benevolent sleepless
Shepherd’s eyes

  Rest my Sweet Hirsute...

A simile is as easy as pie, but a metaphor is a piece of cake!
