Spuddlin'

For Smilin' Out Loud
by Nancy Ness

When life seems too befuddlin'
Take time to do some spuddlin'
Go splashin' while it's puddlin'
Go barefoot in the rain.

When things are poor to middlin'
And both your thumbs are twiddlin'
Stand on your head while fiddlin'
For smi-l-in' out loud!!

When all about are snigglin'
Get all your toes a'wigglin'
Then soon you will be gigglin'
Your doldrum's sure to wane

When things get willy-nilly
Do something brash and silly
Eat ice-cream with your chili
For smi-l-in' out loud!

When days are feelin' maudlin
Watch baby ducklings waddlin'
There's always one that's dawdlin'
That's no time for disdain

When life is too befuddlin'
Make time to go out spuddlin'
That's splashin' while it's puddlin'
For smi-l-in'out loud!!!

A simile is as easy as pie, but a metaphor is a piece of cake!
