Sweet Memory
by Velma M. Carlson

“Sweet Memory”, I love you so
you are always kind and good.
You tell me things I love to hear
And remind me when you should.

You come to visit me always
No matter be it night or day.
Sometimes I feel so lonely, but it’s you
Who makes things right.

You help me to try to understand
And lead me toward the right
So many times I think of you
I even call your name and
Pray that you will stay with me
And that I can always be the same.

Without you “Sweet Memory”, I’d be
So very sad!
Wouldn’t know the difference of the
Good from the bad
Live would be lonely every day
If you should suddenly go away.

You remind me of so many things
Of happy days gone by
Sometimes I really have to laugh
But then again I cry

“Sweet Memory”, please, in all I do
Guide me, and keep me – close to you
Take my hand and stay with me
I love you so, “Sweet Memory”.

A simile is as easy as pie, but a metaphor is a piece of cake!
