Take Time
by Velma M. Carlson

Just to say, "Good Morning,"
Or, "How are you today?"
Just to greet an old friend
In a sort of cheerful wa
y.

Just to let them know you like them
Just to add a knowing smile -
Then you've really made a friend
And one that's sure worthwhile.

Just a little friendly handshake
Will help to make your day start right
Just a smile when meeting someone
May help to make their day real bright.

It takes so little to be friendly,
A little less to smile -
So, when you meet a friend, just take the time
To sit and chat awhile.

A simile is as easy as pie, but a metaphor is a piece of cake!
